Job Title: Assurance Associate

Job Description:

As an Assurance Associate Intern at WSRP you will utilize your educational background to serve the firm’s dynamic client base. You will have the opportunity to work on various audit areas, including cash, accounts receivables, inventories, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accruals. Working side-by-side with more experienced team members will provide you with direction and the coaching necessary for advanced learning opportunities.

What You Will Do:

  • Supporting the accounting and auditing team in their daily functions.
  • Verifying and analyzing company financial information.
  • Planning and performing company financial audits.
  • Creating and managing internal auditing systems.
  • Preparing audit reports and statements for company managers.
  • Resolving client audit queries efficiently.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and company best practices.
  • Training and mentoring Audit Interns.
  • Communications with external institutions (i.e. confirmation.com, long term debt confirmations, legal inquiries) .
  • Perform interviews and walkthroughs of client controls in the risk assessment of the audit.
  • Ensures compliance with internal control procedures through examination, re-performance, and observation.
  • Ensuring compliance with latest accounting standards and applicable accounting regulations (i.e. US GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB, AICPA etc.)
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and technical knowledge by completing CPE (Continuing professional education)
  • All other tasks as assigned

What You Will Bring:

  • Completed an internship in job related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and auditing procedures.
  • Familiarity with state financial laws.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information.
  • Familiarity with accounting and office software.
  • Willingness to learn and expand on professional and technical expertise
  • Ability to learn and utilize various accounting software programs used in the auditing process.
  • Proficient in working in a team environment.
  • Willingness to assist other members of the audit team to complete the audit in a timely manner.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Seeking Master’s degree

Travel:

  • Up to 25% of your time may include travel for customer visits, meetings, or other work-related events
